Start with the everyday items
Furniture, mattresses, household belongings and approved contents from cleanouts are useful starting points. Include quantities and locations, even when several different items are part of the same job.

A couch, mattress, dresser or dining set can be the main reason you need a pickup. Share the piece count, approximate size and where it sits. For sectionals, sleeper sofas or large cabinets, mention anything that affects weight or the route out. The furniture removal guide helps you prepare the details.
Tell us the appliance type and whether it is freestanding, connected or built in. A washer in the basement and a disconnected appliance in the garage need different access conversations. Refrigerators and freezers need specific handling discussions. Read the appliance pickup guide before preparing your unit.
For a larger project, identify the areas involved and separate the belongings you want to keep. Room photos and a list of bulky pieces help explain the scope. A contents cleanout is different from demolition, remediation or deep cleaning. Our property cleanout guide walks through that planning.
Boxes, unwanted household belongings and smaller pieces can be discussed together as a mixed pickup. Describe what is in bags and boxes, and flag unusual materials separately. Use the general junk removal guide when the job does not fit one category.
A LITTLE SORTING GOES A LONG WAY
Ordinary household items and specialist materials need different conversations. Keep an inventory before combining everything into one pile.
Furniture, mattresses, household belongings and approved contents from cleanouts are useful starting points. Include quantities and locations, even when several different items are part of the same job.
Electronics, tires, construction debris, refrigerant-containing appliances, outdoor equipment and unusually heavy objects need discussion first. Their material, condition or weight can change acceptance and handling.
Hazardous materials, unknown liquids, asbestos and medical waste do not belong in a standard junk pickup. Identify paint, chemicals, fuel, propane and batteries separately so an appropriate disposal route can be discussed.
A FEW DETAILS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
The type, size and quantity of items matter. So do stairs, elevators, parking and the distance from your items to the pickup point. Include those details when you get in touch.
Start with your town or ZIP code and the items you want removed. Our Bethlehem and Lehigh Valley service area page explains how to check your pickup location. The pickup process guide covers preparation and what happens after you get in touch.
A short description can help us work out the next step. Mention anything that needs special handling instead of assuming it can go with the rest of the load.
